Session Overview

Day 1                                              Day 2

Session 1: Our Decade of Opportunity

It is crystal clear. This will be a century of change and our actions now and in the near future will decide our direction. This is our decade of opportunity, and we must put that opportunity into place within cities, regions and nations. Fresh collaborations that introduce others’ worldviews, perspectives and disciplines to our existing tools, technologies and knowledge can help generate the innovations in policy, principles, practices and products that we need in the infrastructure space. We need to drive actions that deliver outcomes - such as net zero, resilience and inclusivity – at scale and at pace, paving the way to a positive future for planet, people and prosperity.

Session 2: Thriving Nations

Infrastructure delivers services that matter to people’s wellbeing, education and livelihoods in cities, regions and nations, shaping lives intergenerationally. Delivering sufficient clean water, healthy foods, green open spaces, safe mobility, reliable and affordable electricity and fast broadband demands transition, so how do we make that inevitable process also part of the solution? Today we are launching Thriving Nations Enabled by World Class Infrastructure, a framework of principles to guide the sector toward an impact perspective focused on shaping lives positively. In

Session 3: Culture is old, Infrastructure is young: indigenous perspectives

Nature and culture are slow-paced, multi-millennial systems lying deep within the architecture of humanity's operating system, underpinning multi-centennial governance and infrastructural systems and the multi-annual business environment. The emergence of Indigenous voices in the face of business-induced change speaks to a profound understanding of the irretrievable losses that are being caused. From the stories that Indigenous peoples are telling, there are essential lessons for the infrastructure sector about making the right decisions for the very long term.

Session 4: Capability Building

Growing leaders for today and tomorrow is absolutely fundamental to managing the emerging ESG capability gap in the infrastructure sector and beyond. Focusing on ensuring that as a sector we remain outcomes focused the Infrastructure Sustainability Council looks to an action oriented approach.

Session 5: Impactful Innovations

Developed nations are living unsustainably, which means that the future is destined to be different and we have a precious window – our decade of opportunity - to accelerate and scale intentional change. Fresh collaborations that introduce others’ worldviews, perspectives and disciplines to our existing tools, technologies and knowledge can help generate the innovations in policy, principles, practices and products that we need in the infrastructure space to meet the challenges of delivering net zero, resilience and inclusivity outcomes. We will explore some recent impactful innovations.
